OVERVIEW

This is one of the very few remaining Chevron B15 Formula 3s known to exist. Chassis number F3-69-10 was supplied new to Natalie Goodwin Racing for Cyd Williams to race, as a replacement for the team’s Brabham BT21B. Cyd drove the car in UK and European F3 from June 1969 until early 1970, when it was also driven by Ian Ashley.

The Chevron was subsequently raced by Iain McLaren and hillclimbed by Kenny Allen before going into storage for over 20 years. George Jack purchased the B15 in June 1996 and completely rebuilt it before taking it with him to New Zealand in January 1998. Jack won his class in the 1998/99 Thoroughbred & Classic Car Owners Club historic championship. He later fitted a 1500cc pre crossflow Ford engine, and then a Formula B Lotus twin cam.

The B15 has now been re-fitted with a one litre ‘screamer’ which is unused since rebuild by NZ specialist Tony Marsh. It has a Hewland Mk 6 with magnesium sideplates and a new CWP. The car does require some re-commissioning and updating and this is reflected in the asking price. Complete with a large spares package which includes 1 upper and 2 rear body sections, 1 exhaust manifold, 1 radiator, 4 original shock absorbers and 3 large boxes of original suspension and other mechanical parts. Also included are several history files.

A rare opportunity to purchase a race winning Chevron F3 with extensive provenance at a realistic price.  Offers invited.

Please note that the car is now fitted with a set of correct F3 size split rims, rather than those shown in the main photographs.
